Remarkable Women

Status:Active, open to new members

Have you heard of Caroline Herschel? Marianne North? Katherine Johnson? Dorothy Fields?

Nor had I until some visits to museums and galleries and other research made me aware of these women and their significant achievements.

There are many remarkable and talented women particularly in the last centuries and also in contemporary times, astronomers, mathematicians, artists, writers, musicians, entertainers, politicians etc, some who may be more familiar names to us, but many others for various reasons including the social conventions and restrictions of the time are relatively unknown.

The aim of this group is to explore and learn about some of their lives and achievements, the group has been running successfully for a few years now, with good attendances.

We meet in my home and enjoy interesting and informative presentations each month about an inspiring and remarkable woman.
