Radlett & District u3a

Groups

Radlett & District u3a has a number of Study Groups. For information about them click on the links at the bottom of this page.

A few study groups are run jointly with neighbouring u3as with agreement from the Study Group Coordinator of the u3a in question. In all other cases it is necessary to be a current member of Radlett and District u3a in order to attend our groups.

Please wear your u3a badge whenever you attend a group meeting. This must have an ICE (In Case of Emergency) number on the back so that we can contact a friend or relative if there is a problem.

Joining a Group

If you are interested in joining an Study Group you should contact the leader. You can send an email directly to the leader of an Study Group by clicking on the email link for that group.

Starting a Group

If you are interested in starting a new Group, but don't know where to begin, there are various links to the right of this page. These will give you an idea of what can be done. If you do decide to try, you will be supported by the local Groups Co-ordinator. A group page will be set up for you on our website and it will be advertised at our meetings and in our publications. Radlett and District u3a own a laptop, projector and screen, a telescope and a laminator that are available for groups to borrow. There are also National u3a subject advisers on many topics, they will have specialist knowledge to help you. The u3a Resources Centre has a collection of non-book material available for all U3A groups to borrow free of charge, except for the cost of return postage. There are DVDs available in many subject areas. You don't have to be an expert to start a group, so please consider trying it.

WARNING Some of our groups and activities have risks associated with them and require you to be reasonably fit and capable of undertaking them. If you are uncertain of your capability in taking part in an activity please discuss this with the group leader or your doctor as appropriate. Please note that the U3A insurance does not include personal accident cover.

If you are interested in any of them please click on the groups coordinator link, within the group concerned,  to send an email to them.

REMEMBER, to join a group you must first become a member of Radlett & District u3a.
